My other job...

In my free time I coach Track and Field at local high schools. I love to run, and I love to coach. My wife was a professional runner, winning several USATF road races, so I am the slowest parent in the household :)

I am drawn to coaching as I see coaches as teachers that can lead others in lessons such as how to stay positive, how to overcome adversity, how to work together for a common purpose, how to be resilient and how to be there for others. Achieving goals and overcoming obstacles helps our business persevere regardless of whatever external challenges we may face.

I currently coach at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, and previously coached several athletes at Los Altos High School and Castilleja High School. I also had the thrill of a lifetime of coaching my younger brother throughout elementary school, junior high, and high school. He now competes for UCLA.

Personal

Ironically enough I wasn't very invested in high school track when I was in high school myself. I barely competed on my high school team, but would run some high level club meets over the summer as a means to stay in shape for soccer. Luckily that led to a few scholarship offers for both sports, which led me to the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). I made my collegiate debut in track as an upper classman following soccer and an unfortunate hamstring tear. My best marks came my final year while studying abroad and competing for my university in the UK. Most importantly though, it sparked a love for the sport and a desire to coach.
